The following item for the GM-P420E/AU model was changed partly from GM-P420E/A model. Therefore, this service manual describes only the items, which differ from those of the GM-P420E/A service manual. For details other than those described in this manual, please refer to the GM-P420E/A model service manual (No.51953B, Jul. 2002).

Input the 480i whole black component video signal to the COMPONENT terminal. 2. Connect the oscilloscope to the TP-PR (31 pin of IC 205 - the highest bit). 3. Enter SERVICE MENU, and select the DEVICE INITIAL VALUE. 4. Select the IB:CXA3506R in the DEVICE INITIAL VALUE, and select the I(B19). 5. Change the value of I(B19) in order of 000001000. By

doing this adjustment, the internal system in the microcomputer is changed. So you must do this adjustment without fail. 6. Return to SERVICE MENU. 7. Select the WHITE BALANCE BLOCK. 8. Adjust the values W(E11) so that the brightness at the Low (0V) and High (5V) of the digital signal voltage corresponding to the picture signal duration become uniform (or the same ratio of appearance). Although there are several kinds of states in (B), adjust the value within 2-3 from the initial value. 9. In the same manner as for 8. above, connect oscilloscope to the TP-PB (53 pin of IC 205 - the highest bit) and adjust the value W(E13).
