Subject: Countermeasures for a Chroma-bug and for a malfunction when
playing particular discs.


Symptom: 1) When playing back DVD Discs such as animation, etc., the
malfunction occurs that the Chroma-bug appears on the picture.
2) When the "Mission To Mars" (Disc No. VWDS3072) is played, a mosaic
pattern appears on the screen.
3) When the chapter list of the "END OF DAYS" (Disc No. 20721) and "Crimson
River" (Disc No. PIBF-1373), a malfunction occurs that jagged pattern appears
on the still picture portion.
4) After switching on the DENON Link, if a CD is played, "PROTECTION" is
indicated when playing back a copyright-protected DVD-Audio.


Solution: Please upgrade the following Panel MICON and ESS upon claim or
when the customer brings the unit for service for any reason.
Note: Please do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation. It
is necessary to replace the Flash IC when the Power turned off during the
rewriting operation. During the rewriting operation, if "Loading" remained
displaying and the indication does not change into the "Write Complete" or
"COMPLETE", please wait for more than two minutes after closing the Loader.
Then, turn off the Power and start the rewriting operation from the beginning.
