MCU SOFTWARE UPDATE FROM 3.24 TO 4.02
If user settings are transferred when updating the MCU software version
from 3.24 to 4.02 using WinTesla, the T9 user dictionary is no longer
functional i.e. the user will not be able to add new words to the T9 user
dictionary after SW update. Above mentioned situation can be avoided by
following the instructions below:
1. Before updating phone SW run Dealer -> SCM & User settings...
2. Specify a filename for the user settings (e.g. FILE)
3. Read the user settings from the phone by using the 'Read Phone' button
4. Delete the T9 user dictionary file (e.g. FILE.T9)
5. Update the phone SW from version 3.24 to version 4.02 without
transferring the user settings
6. Run Dealer -> SCM & User settings...
7. Write the user settings to the phone using the 'Write Phone' button (the
filename must be the same as the filename specified in 2.)
8. When writing the user settings to the phone an error dialog will show
stating that the T9 user dictionary can not be transferred. Press 'OK'
button
Notice that the T9 user dictionary will not be transferred!
