Software-Upgrade Gewährleistung
Wir weisen ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass nur von GRUNDIG freigegebene System-Software zulässig ist. Wurde als Fehlerursache festgestellt, dass eine aus nicht legitimierten Quellen gleich welcher Herkunft stammende oder eine veränderte System-Software in die Geräte geladen wurde, so ist dies ein Fremdeingriff. Ein Fremdeingriff führt zum Erlöschen jeglicher Gewährleistungsansprüche. GRUNDIG muss daher alle aus diesen Gründen resultierenden Kostenerstattungen generell ablehnen. Instandsetzungskosten, auch innerhalb der Gewährleistungszeit, gehen in diesen Fällen zu Lasten des Händlers bzw. des Endkunden.

We expressly point out that only operating software authorized by GRUNDIG is allowed. If a failure is caused by an operating software which has been downloaded from not authorized sources, independent of its origin, or a modified software, this represents an outside interference. An outside interference leads to the expiration of any warranty claims. For this reason, GRUNDIG is obliged to generally refuse any payment due to such infringements. In such cases, the repair costs are at the charge of the retailer or the final customer, even within the period of warranty.

Ausbauhinweise
DVD/CD aus defektem Laufwerk entfernen Mit einem dünnen Schraubendreher durch das Loch A (Fig. 1 / 6) den Schieber ca. 2cm nach innen schieben und Schublade herausziehen. 1. Adapter-Platte 2 Schrauben B (Fig. 2) herausdrehen. Adapter-Platte abnehmen. Gegebenenfalls Steckverbindungen lösen. 2. Digital-Platte Abschirmdeckel abnehmen. 4 Schrauben C (Fig. 3) herausdrehen. Digital-Platte herausnehmen. Gegebenenfalls Steckverbindungen lösen. Achtung: Nach dem Tausch der Digital-Platte, des EEPROM´s (U7 / U71) oder des FLASH (U13 / U15) muss ein Software-Upgrade (Seite 2-1) durchgeführt werden. 3. Laufwerkeinheit zerlegen 4 Schrauben D (Fig. 4) herausdrehen. Bodenabschirmung abnehmen. Laufwerk aus der Abschirmung herausnehmen. 3.1 Laufwerk-Platte ausbauen Schrauben F (Fig. 5) herausdrehen und Laufwerk-Platte abnehmen. Gegebenenfalls Steckverbindungen lösen. Achtung: Die Lasereinheit ist sehr empfindFLEXPRINT lich gegen statische Aufladungen (MOSBauteile)! Schließen Sie deshalb die Flexprintleitung zur Lasereinheit vor dem Lösen der Steckverbindung mit einer Büroklammer kurz oder bringen Sie die Schutzlötstellen I (Fig. 7 / 8) an. 3.2 Schublade ausbauen Zahnrad DM11 (Fig. 9) in Pfeilrichtung drehen bis sich die Schublade bewegt. Schublade komplett herausziehen. 2 Schrauben G (Fig. 6) herausdrehen. Rastnasen H (Fig. 6) lösen und Laufwerkoberteil abnehmen. Schublade abnehmen. Montagehinweis: Zahnrad DM14 (Fig. 10) so drehen, dass zwischen den Markierungen O der Steg N des Zahnrades DM16 gegenüber steht. Schublade so aufsetzen, dass der mittlere Zahn R (Fig. 11) der Schublade in die markierte Lücke P des Zahnrades greift. Schublade durch Montage des Laufwerkoberteils fixieren.
Disassembly Instructions
Opening the Tray when the Drive is Defective Insert a thin screw driver through the hole A (Fig. 1 / 6), push the slider about 2cm in inward direction then pull out the tray. 1. Adapter Board Undo the 2 screws B (Fig. 2). Remove the adapter board. Unplug the connectors if necessary. 2. Digital Board Remove the cover schielding. Undo the 4 screws C (Fig. 3). Remove the digital board. Unplug the connectors if necessary. Attention: After replacing the digital board, the EEPROM (U7 / U71), or the FLASH (U13 / U15) a software upgrade must be carried out (page 2-3). 3. Disassembling the Drive Mechanism Undo the 4 screws D (Fig. 4). Remove the bottom shielding. Remove the drive mechanism from the schielding. 3.1 Removing the Drive Board Undo the screws F (Fig. 5) then remove the drive board. Unplug the connectors if necessary. Attention: The laser unit is very sensitive to static charges (MOS components)! FLEXPRINT For this reason, before disconnecting the Flexprint lead from the laser unit, shortcircuit it by means of a paper clip or apply the protective soldering points I (Fig. 7 / 8). 3.2 Removing the Tray Turn the toothed wheel DM11 (Fig. 9) in direction of the arrow until the tray moves then pull out the tray. Undo the 2 screws G (Fig. 6). Undo the locking lugs H (Fig. 6) then remove the top part of the drive mechanism. Remove the tray. Reassembly hint: Turn the toothed wheel DM14 (Fig. 10) so that it faces on the rib N the toothed wheel DM16 between the marks O . Fit the tray so that the centre tooth R (Fig. 11) of the tray engages into the marked gap P of the toothed wheel. Fix the tray by mounting the upper part of the drive mechanism.

3.3 Lademotor ausbauen Riemen DM07 (Fig. 10) abnehmen. 2 Schrauben L (Fig. 10) herausdrehen und Lademotor herausnehmen. 3.4 Sledge-Motor ausbauen Laufwerk-Platte ausbauen (Punkt 3.1). 2 Schrauben U (Fig. 12) herausdrehen und Sledge-Motor nach unten herausnehmen. 3.5 Laufwerk ausbauen Laufwerk-Platte ausbauen (Punkt 3.1). Gegebenenfalls Kabel frei legen. 4 Schrauben S (Fig. 12) herausdrehen. Rastnasen T (Fig. 12) lösen und Laufwerk herausnehmen. Montagehinweis zum Einbau eines neuen Laufwerks: Flexprint an der Lasereinheit und an CN100 der Laufwerk-Platte anschließen. werkseitig angebrachte Schutzlötstellen der Lasereinheit entfernen (Fig. 7 / 8)
3.3 Removing the Loading Motor Remove the belt DM07 (Fig. 10). Undo the 2 screws L (Fig. 10) then remove the loading motor. 3.4 Removing the Sledge Motor Remove the drive board (point 3.1). Undo the 2 screws U (Fig. 12) then remove the sledge motor in downward direction. 3.5 Removing the Drive Mechanism Remove the drive board (point 3.1). Expose the cable if necessary. Undo the 4 screws S (Fig. 12). Undo the locking lugs T (Fig. 12) then remove the drive mechanism. Instructions for Mounting a new Drive Mechanism Connect the Flexprint lead to the laser unit and to CN100 on the drive board. Remove the factory-applied protective soldering joints from the laser unit (Fig. 7 / 8).

1. Wichtige Masseverbindungen! Beim Zusammenbau des Gerätes ist darauf zu achten, dass die Masseverbindungen zwischen den einzelnen Platinen und dem Rahmen sowie dem Laufwerk und dem Rahmen gewährleistet sind. 2. Durchführen von Messungen Bei Messungen mit dem Oszilloskop an Halbleitern sollten Sie nur Tastköpfe mit 10:1 - Teiler verwenden. Außerdem ist zu beachten, dass nach vorheriger Messung mit AC-Kopplung der Koppelkondensator des Oszilloskops aufgeladen sein kann. Durch die Entladung über das Messobjekt können diese Bauteile beschädigt werden. 3. Messwerte und Oszillogramme Bei den in den Schaltplänen und Oszillogrammen angegebenen Messwerten handelt es sich um Näherungswerte!

When reassembling the machine it is essential to observe that the chassis connections between the individual circuit boards and the frame as well as between the Drive Mechanism and the frame are in good order. 2. Carrying out Measurements When making measurements on semi-conductors with an oscilloscope, ensure that the test probe is set to 10:1 dividing factor. Further, please note that if the previous measurement is made on AC input, the coupling capacitor in the oscilloscope will be charged. Discharge via the item being checked can damage components. 3. Measured Values and Oscillograms The measured values given in the circuit diagrams and oscillograms are approximates!

Hinweise: Abhängig von der verwendeten DVD/Video-CD kann es notwendig sein, aus einem Inhaltsverzeichnis der DVD/Video-CD Titel oder Kapitel auszuwählen. Zum Auswählen benutzen Sie die Tasten »P+«, »P-«, » zum Aktivieren die Taste »OK«. « oder » «,

The playback of an audio CD can be interrupted at any point and then resumed from the same place.

Ending playback

Playback of the audio CD stops automatically at the end of the final track. You can stop playback at any point by pressing »7« twice.
Removing an audio CD

If the audio CD is not removed from the disc tray, you can switch to the most recently watched television station by pressing »TV+«.

Software-Upgrade
Achtung: Sollte während dem Software-Upgrade eine Störung (z.B. Stromausfall) auftreten, so sind eventuell die Gerätefunktionen und ein Neustart der Upgrade-Funktion nicht mehr gewährleistet. In diesem Fall müssen Sie die eingebauten FLASH-ICs (U13 / U15) durch vorprogrammierte ersetzen (siehe Ersatzteilliste). Software-Upgrade-CD einlegen, Programmplatz "03" (AV3) anwählen und die Hinweise am Bildschirm beachten. Initialisierung des Gerätes durchführen.
2.2.1 System Einstellungen Systemmeldungen Das System gibt bei Funktionswahl und bei auftretenden Fehlern (z.B. Disc-, Bedien- oder Gerätefehler) Meldungen aus, die im unteren Bereich des Bildschirmes kurzzeitig angezeigt werden. Diagnose Die Diagnose ist auf mehrere Seiten aufgeteilt. Zur Anwahl der gewünschten Seite ist die Nummer der Seite einzugeben (z.B. 2 für State) und mit »OK« zu bestätigen. Folgende Bedien-Funktionen sind bei der Diagnose möglich: Taste s wählt nächste Diagnoseseite bzw. beendet die Diagnose nach der letzten Seite. Taste »i« beendet vorzeitig die Diagnose. Folgende Diagnose-Seiten sind aufrufbar:

Software Upgrade
Attention: if a failure should occur during the software upgrade (e.g. a mains failure), it may happen that the unit's functions and a restart of the upgrade function are no longer possible. If this should be the case, you must replace the integrated FLASH ICs (U13 / U15) with preprogrammed ICs (see corresponding spare parts list). Insert the software upgrade CD, select programme position "03" (AV3) and observe the hints on the picture screen. Carry out an initialization of the set.
2.2.1 System settings System messages When selecting a function or in the case of an error (e.g. disc, handling or unit error), the system emits messages which are briefly displayed in the bottom area of the picture screen. Diagnostics The diagnostic functions are subdivided on several pages. To select the desired page, enter its number (e.g. 2 for State) then confirm with »OK«. In diagnostic mode, the following functions are possible: Use the s button to select the next diagnostic page or to end the diagnostic mode after the last page. Use the »i« to exit the diagnostic mode early. The following diagnostic pages can be called up:

Call up the "Easy Dialog" menu using the »i« button. Call up "Installation" using the 5 *1 button. Call up "Installation" menu page 2 using the »P+« or »P-« button. Call up the "Dealer service menu" using the 3 *1 button. Enter the digits "8 5 0 0". Call up "Special functions" using the 4 *1 button. Call up "DVD settings" using the 6 *1 button. Select "Factory Reset" using the 1 *1 button. The software of the unit is reset to its factory settings. With that the basic settings are loaded and the customer-specific data erased.
