Power Supply
When the power button was pressed the set didn't attempt to turn on (dead). The 5vsM10 supply on U13101(16,29) measured around 1 V dc. The supply diode CR14608 (5vs) on the standby supply the diode measured leaky.

MMC101 FB14709/10 Power Supply
intermittent high pitched squeal.FB14710, FB14709 , located on CR14703 by flyback under the fan. Glued them down. Found that moving them either made the unit quiet RTV FB14710, or made it squeal loudly. FB14709 Both tuners are not working. The 33 volt supply to the tuners is low.Found C25215 on the 33 volt line leaky. Measured 97 ohms to ground. Replaced the SMD cap. Picture too bright. Cathodes at 40vdc, 205vdc line at 75vdc. Found CR14701 shorted. dead set. All standby's are running low. Measuring the opto U14601 found no negative voltage present at pin 3. Checking CR14604, found it open

No filaments. The 24+ supply missing at J14405.Found trace broken from JW14720 Repair trace from to L14775 ,screw thru the board. Looks like the screw that holds R14767. JW14720 to L14775 Dead set. No standby voltages. Found R14602 open Replace R14602

Power supply is running low. +5Vs measures about 1.5vdc. Found CR14602 anode measuring 1.2K ohms to ground. According to the troubleshooting guide, it should measure 21K ohms.Found C14608 shorted. This is a 680pF cap across CR14602 , the -12vdc rectifier. Removed the cap and the set runs. Replaced C14608 to restore operation. Replace C14608 dead set - no Key data on pin 6 of U13101 and dc voltage at 0vdc. Checked the voltage (should be 5 vdc) at the power fail pin 5 of U13101 and it measured 0vdc. Servicer found Q14608 leaky causing the problem.

Replace C22315, Set won't start. Found the 5 volts going to pin 12 of U22300 was not there. Checking Q14604 and the 5 volt line, Q14604 was open. There was a short on that line caused by C22315. L22304. no video, found coil " L38300" had changed in value to 1000 ohms, the 5 volts drops to 2.5 volts across the coil. Replaced the coil restored the dc and the video returned. Convergence power supply not running , found U19702 open. Intermittently would pull in from sides. If tech tapped chassis it would cause it to jump, He went to adjust R14101 and it was jumping just lightly touching. Replaced control and it took care of problem. 68 vdc source not regulating. It would drop to 58 vdc at scene change and a black bar would also appear at the top of the picture. Found CR14108 leaky (had to check out of circuit). Set would shutdown with change in contrast. Found c14120 shorted Cycles, No voltage out of CR14103, T14100 pins 22 to 16 is open. Dead Set, Fans start up and then shut down. Found u14102 shorted pin 1 to 2 in run power supply. no sat reception, found output from DM-1 was at 25vdc all the time not switching from 13 to 18, checking U24502 on DM-1 power supply we found pins 2 and 4 shorted, removed short and unit started working properly

The tuner failed to work in the antenna mode. The Dish and video inputs did work. The DM1 checked out. We found the 33-volt supply down to 16-VDC. CR14109 (33volt zener) was leaky. Replacement restored normal operation. replace CR14109

Dead set, Found pins 43,44 at 1vdc and pin 51 0vdc of U13101. Checking Q13107 we found the base at .6vdc. This comes from the dm-1 module which he had replaced. Checking the dm-1 power supply we found the power fail voltage was at 7vdc should have been 21

intermittent satellite reception. DM 1 power supply with a slight squeal. The servicer Replace C14113, found 2.1vpp ripple on the 5VADM source. C14115 and C14113 had vented. C14115 and Replacement of capacitors removed the ripple. The servicer also replaced CR14105. CR14105 No osd or video, found the 5vdc was missing on the DM1 power supply. Found CR14108 shorted. all three crt's are burned. High voltage comes up when the set is plugged in, the run supply is on in standby. Found CR14608 the 5 volt standby diode shorted.

Set making a squealing noise. Will not start. C14113 & C14115 in the DM1power supply were vented also found R14101 open connection at pin 1 Phosphor burn about 3 inches down the middle of the CRT. The high voltage would come up when you plugged the set in. found the run supply coming on in standby. CR14602 shorted in the stanby power supply. Intermittently the Direct TV card would not be read by the cardreader in the DM-1. C14115, C14113 were replaced but it was noticed that CR14118 power fail circuit showed signs of overheating. Resistance measurement proved the diode to be shorted

On plug in the high voltage would come up without turning on the set. Went to micro and found pin 4 at 5 volts checking pin 16 it had .3 vdc went to standby supply and cr14608 was at .6 volts. The diode checked good, replaced and got the 5 volts back, but Replace CR14608

He found CR14118 in the DM1power supply leaky causing the powerfail to blip resetting the dm1 intermittently Replaced CR14118 dead set, the neg- 40-VDC is down to neg-10-VDC on the DM1 power supply found CR14118 leaky. replaced CR14418

Gets a black line at the top and the bottom intermittently. Sometimes gets a tearing in the video and retrace in the black bars then and shutdown. Found CR14129 and Replace CR14129 C14135 defective & C14135 standby power supply on chassis blown replaced suspected parts , but power supply will not start unless variaced up then it will run. Found C14130 leaky off the gate of Q14601 replace C14130
