This publication describes the internal logic of the
MFT Supervisor. The MFT supervisor is one part of the
control program of the IBM System/360 Operating System.
The publication provides an introduction to control
program logic and describes the supervisor components
of the program. Specifically, the publication

Program Logic Manuals are intended for use by per-
sons involved in program maintenance, and system pro-
grammers who are altering the program design. Program
logic information is not necessary for program use and
operation.
Information in this publication applies only to sys-
tems capable of multiprogramming with a fixed number of
tasks CMFT).
Second Edition (l1arch, 1972)
This is a major reV1S1on of and makes obsolete GY28-
7236-0 and its associated TNL, GN27-136Q. This edition
corresponds to Release 21 of Systeml360 Operating Sys-
tem. It provides information concerning the Genera-
lized Trace Facility and Status Display Support; enhan-
cements and modifications to SYS1.LOGREC, RMS, DIDOCS,
OLTEP, and ABEND; and other improvements and correc-
tions to existing system features.
Release 20 added information concerning SVC DU~P, RMS
for the Models 165 and 155, Systeml370 Time-of-Day
Clock, and the Extended Precision Floating Point Decim-
al Simulator.
Significant changes or additions to the specifications
contained in this publication are continually being
made. When using this publication in connection with
the operation of IBM equipment, check the latest SRL
Newsletter for revisions or contact the local IBM
branch office.
This publication was prepared for production using an IBM computer to
update the text and to control the page and line format. Page impres-
sions for photo-offset printing were obtained from an IBM lQ03 Printer
using a special print train.
