DP-BOARD ........................................................................................... (CONTINUED)

The main function of the HA-Board is to provide the input interface to external equipment for Digital
Audio signal inputs, these are received through optical and co-axial input terminals , JK2905 (optical
input) is dedicated for AV1 only , while JK2902 (optical input) and JK2903 (co-axial input) can be
attributed to any AV, selectable by the customer. The co-axial input JK2903 having priority over the
optical input JK2902. ...... An additional optional IC2902 is available which allows for each input to
independent from each other, this option is not used on Euro9. The speaker out terminals are also
provided on the HA-Board which provide connection to the external satellite speakers for L and R , L
and R surround and centre. An addition option is provided to allow the sub-woofer channel to be
output via JK2905 by a co-axial type connector, this is not required due to an internal sub-woofer
speaker being fitted inside the cabinet. ........................................................................................................... 14

The RGB output stage is mounted onto the CRT board. Each of the 3 colour channels are fed from the
DDP (pins 24~26) via Q1703, Q1704 and Q1705, which buffer and amplify the signal before it's fed
through connectors A2 to L2 to the video output amplifiers IC351,IC361 and IC371 (TDA6103Q). The
RGB signals are amplified before being output to the CRT, a reference voltage for the internal
amplifiers is fed to pin 5 of IC351.IC361 and IC371. SVM drive is provided on the L-Board.................. 14

2. Functional Description

2.1 A-Board (Video Block diagram)

The A-PCB is responsible for frontend video and backend deflection processing , also system control
via IC1501 (VSP9415/7) , IC1701 (DDP3315C) and IC1101 (SDA6000) respectively.

VSP9415 & 7

The VSP device comprises a digital multistandard colour decoder for master and slave
channel (the slave channel only being available on VSP9417 version) , a RGB interface with fast
blanking (scart capability) . Horizontal , vertical and panaroma scaler , embedded DRAM for frame
based scanrate up-conversion and picture improvements such as CTI , LTI , noise reduction, comb
filtering and adaptive horizontal , vertical peaking.
The Main CVBS signal is fed from pin 13 of A4 to pin 55 of the VSP directly , the Y/C input is fed
from pin 11 and 12 of A4 , the `Chroma' signal being passed through IC1503 to pin 46 or directly to
pin 56 of the VSP .
The PIP CVBS signal is fed from pin 5 of A4 to pin 57 of the VSP directly , the Y/C input is fed
from pin 5 and 6 of A4 , the `Chroma' signal being passed through IC1503 to pin 39 or directly to pin
58 of the VSP.
IC1503 is only required for PiP models when it is necessary to display the Main and PiP
channel as a pure Y/C signal. For models w/o PiP the `Chroma' signal is passed directly to the VSP.
IC1503 is a standard video switch which can switch 2 inputs to one ouput , the inputs being Ext. Red
or C-PiP and Pr (Progressive Input) or C-Main. The control switch is provide by the M2 which
determines whether a customer has the YPbPr input source connected.
RGB and fast blanking is fed via A4 pins 8,9,10 and 7 respectively to the VSP input pins
37,39,40 and 41. As an option YPrPb (progressive input) can be fed via A4 pins 16 , 17 and 18 to the
VSP input pins 47 , 46 and 48.
The VSP requires both 1.8V and 3.3V supply voltages these being separated via LC filters to
the analogue and digital parts of the VSP . The 1.8V is fed by IC1502 , an on board SMT regulator ,
the 3.3V is supplied from the D-PCB by IC3803 via A1 pin 20.
2 2
The VSP is controlled via the I C bus pins 6 and 13 , the I C bus being 3.3V (VSP9417 I2C
specification) , the VSP has one crystal being of 20.25MHz which provides all necessary timing for the
whole IC.
The backend interface to the DDPC is made via the ITU656 digital video interface in 4:2:2
format pins 10,15,16,21,22,30,31and 32, this 8 bit bus provides all necessary video, chroma and sync
information. The timing between the VSP and DDPC is made via the LLC2 digital clock pin 9.

DDP3315C

The DDPC is a single
