TVCR Epsilon 14", Evolution AA

Whistle on Audio during reception of PAL I signals

In sets with "UOC/N1" (TDA93xx), pos. 7200, there could occur whistle on audio during reception of
PAL I signals. An unwanted side effect inside the UOC can cause the problem.

Even when the symptom is present at the loudspeaker- (and headphone-) output it will neither be
recorded on tape nor be present on Scart output.

Service Solution

Sets with "UOC/N1" (TDA93xx) can easily be identified by their Evolution code "AA" printed on the
type plate.

For all 14" sets of /07 version with TDA93xx there is the following service solution:

Exchange item 2736 on the SSB-PCB from 4n7 capacitor to a 09 jumper.
Thereby the sound demodulator inside the UOC is deactivated (the /07 sets with TDA93xx are
equipped with an external sound demodulator).

/07 sets which might be concerned:

14PV110/07 to serial nr. 3763 1000 015197 (produced till w131)
14PV202/07 to 3776 1000 023825 (produced till w131)
14PV220/07 to 3769 1000 004723 (produced till w131)
14PV227/07 to 3772 1000 004977 (produced till w131)
14PV350/07 to 3775 1000 002159 (produced till w131)
14PV354/07 to 3777 1000 000683 (produced till w129)
14PV358/07 to 3781 1000 004347 (produced till w132)

In sets with higher serial number and with Evolution Code "AA" the service solution is already
included.

Sets with Evolution Code "AB" are equipped with UOC TDA95xx and do not show the problem (all
20/21 inch sets have TDA95xx).
