POST ERROR MESSAGES
An error message results if the Power-On Self-Test (POST) encounters a problem. This test runs when the system is turned on, checking assemblies within the computer and reporting any errors found.

101-ROM Error

Probable Cause
System ROM checksum.

Recommended Action
Flash the ROM. Replace the system board.

101-Option ROM Checksum Error

1L, 1S

Option ROM checksum.

Run Computer setup (F10 Setup). Verify the correct ROM. Flash ROM if applicable. Replace optional expansion card.

102-System Board Failure

None

DMA, timers, etc.

Clear CMOS. Pull expansion cards. Replace the system board.

162-System Options Not Set

2S

Configuration incorrect. RTC (real-time clock) battery may need to be replaced. Battery life is approximately 5 years. CMOS jumper may not be properly installed.

Run Computer Setup (F10 Setup). Reset the date and time under Control Panel. If the problem persists, replace the RTC battery. Check for proper placement of the CMOS jumper. Set the date and time. If the problem persists, replace the RTC battery.

163-Time & Date Not Set

Invalid time or date in configuration memory. RTC (real-time clock) battery may need to be replaced. Battery life is approximately five years. CMOS jumper may not be properly installed.
