SUBJECT: ATI Video Adapter Compatibility

BACKGROUND: There is a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) timing difference between the Samsung SyncMaster 170tTFT " (CN17BSAN), and the ATI All In Wonder Radeon and Radeon VE video adapters. The timing difference occurs during the 720x400/70Hz mode of the initial boot up screen. See symptom below. Once the desktop resolution is active, the video appears normal.

SOLUTION: Replace the microprocessor CN17BSF at location IC500 with date code of 2001.3.24 or later.
