M420 LINE INPUT/OUTPUT-- OPERATING SYSTEM
Two simultaneous functions are provided by 420 type modules; output from the group mix with fader, and monitor input
from either group, tape or return (effects) input. The majority of the control panel is dedicated to monitor controls which are
equal to those found on 410 inputs. As a result this module is capable of all record overdub and remix functions for line
sources. The small fader and large (normally group) fader are reversible. During multitrack sessions the large fader becomes
the monitor as soon as you wish. The small fader then is the group fader. Combine 420s with 410s to achieve a remarkably
efficient multitrack system, there is no longer a need for mental gymnastics and tedious control resetting once tracks are laid
and bouncing starts. As tracks are laid the faders on the right of the desk become dedicated monitor faders with full EQ, echo
send and assign facilities, saving time and reducing risks of operator error.
The monitor section is part of the SSR Automute system. The large fader can be non automated, VCA grouping or fader
automation type. Audio flow within the module and audio connection are shown above and below.
