Broadband, Solid-State Amplifiers

AMPLIFIERS that have a wide bandwidth or the
capability of fast transient response are useful in
many electronics and physics applications. Wher
ever low level, high-frequency signals are encoun
tered, a broadband amplifier is indispensable for
increasing signals for electronic counters, for ex
ample, or for such purposes as measurement by
conventional voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
For this reason a new, general-purpose ampli
fier is now offered by Hewlett-Packard. Two ver
sions of this amplifier have been designed. One
