i. When performing any Eye Diagram tests, any data stored under Ref1 of the oscilloscope will get deleted.

ii. The best MS Windows(TM) task bar settings for running this application are:
Always on top = unchecked
Auto Hide = unchecked

iii. Report Generation:

1- Key board is required to create a new directory as a destination to generate reports.

2- If oscilloscope firmware version is lower than 2.3.2 then set Image data format to JPEG in Scope application under File->Export Setup. Report generation will fail in any other format.

3- If oscilloscope firmware version is lower than 2.3.2 then set Image view to graticule only in Scope application under File->Export Setup. This will ensure proper Oscilloscope screenshot in the generated report.

4- If oscilloscope firmware version is lower than 2.3.2 then set Image to normal only in Scope application under File->Export Setup. This will ensure proper Oscilloscope screenshot in the generated report.

iv. When using a secondary monitor, the "Colors" setting [Display Properties > Settings] of the secondary monitor must match or be set to a higher color depth than the Scope's LCD Display: A secondary monitor cannot be set to 256 colors.

v. If the operating system in the oscilloscope is Windows 2000 -

1.If the original scope settings are not restored at exit, then please create the folder C:\Windows\Temp

2.When attaching a secondary monitor, please set the color setting higher color depth than 256 colors to be the same as the primary monitor. The application will fail to invoke with a secondary monitor color setting of 256 colors .

Vi."Hide" Button/Icon may not bring full screen tekscope application to foreground. This is intermittent however if this occurs, click anywhere in TekScope Application to bring TekScope application to foreground.

vii. For a proper report generation make sure that upper half of the oscilloscope is not covered with any window excluding TDSDVI specific Eye Zoom and Eye Trend windows.

viii. You need administrator privileges to install or uninstall TDSDVI application in Windows 2000 operating system. If you do not have administrator privileges, contact your system administrator to install the application.

iX.In the oscilloscope menu "Measure->Waveform Histograms->Adjust Histogram Box" should be set to limits for proper Pk-Pk Jitter measurements.

X. If the device description in the Reports setup tab of the Report Generation panel is empty or contains special characters like ">" or "<" then the compared results will not function properly.

Xi. The eye trend and eye zoom windows are continuously updated on TDS6604 and TDS6404,it is recommended that all windows excluding tekscope and TDSDVI should be closed before running the Eye Diagram measurement.

Xii.As the Multi purpose knob control in the oscilloscope front panel is not automatically assigned to the cursors,go to Cursor -> Cursor position to place the cursors.

Xiii. When File->Recalldefault and uncheck File->Preferences->Prompt for signal connection is done, RTFT measurement does not work as expected

12. Installation-

Normally, the TDSDVI application resides on the hard drive of your oscilloscope. If the application is not installed on hard disk perform the following steps to install the application from the Optional Applications Software on a Windows-Based Oscilloscope Compact disc (CD-ROM)

1. If the keyboard is not installed, connect it to the oscilloscope rear panel(the optional-accessory keyboard plugs into the USB connector).

2. Power on the oscilloscope to start Windows.

3. Install the optional applications software CD in the CD-ROM reader of the oscilloscope.

4. The autorun utility will start the installation program. If the autorun utility doesn't start up automatically, browse to the CDROM and double-click the launch.exe.

5. Select the option 'Install Products'.

6. Select the option 'DVI Compliance Test Solution'.

7. Select the option 'Install Now'.

8. Follow the instructions given by the InstallShield Wizard. If Java Run-time Environment (JRE 1.4.2_02) software is not previously installed then the InstallShield Wizard will prompt for installing it. Click "Yes" when prompted for installing JRE 1.4.2_02 and the InstallShield will install it. Do not change the default locations to install the files. The oscilloscope must reboot to complete the installation process.

9. You will need to enter the authorized Option Installation Key to enable the application. The key is specific to the serialized oscilloscope and options for which it was purchased. To enter the key number, follow these steps:

a. If the oscilloscope powered on in the toolbar mode (default), select the Menu button (upper right corner of the display) to put the oscilloscope into menu-bar mode. In menu-bar mode you should see a PC-style menu across the top of the display.

b. Go to the Utilities menu in the menu bar and select Option Installation.
