Subject: Correction of the Firmware.
Countermeasure is applicable only upon claim from the customer.

Symptom: 1) A specific DVD disc "Miyuki Utatabi Nakashima concert tour
2007" cannot be correctly reproduced.
2) Sound breaks off in specific DVD disc (MoRA/Ringo Shiina) [TOBF-5601]. And
elapsed time becomes discontinuous.




Solution: We improved the software in the Back-end so that no malfunction
occurs.
MODIFICATION: Record the supplied file onto a blank CD-R separately and
individually, and update the firmware in the Back-end on your customer's unit
upon refurbishment of the unit and/or claim.

Cautions: 1) When recording the file(s) on a blank CD-R, the format shall be
"ISO9660" and the session shall be "CLOSE".

2) When recording the program file on the CD-R, please record it at the 4-times
speed of the normal speed.
3) When the 4-times speed is not available, please record it at the minimum
speed that is available in your machine.
4) If the file was recorded at a high speed, such as 32 or 48 times speed of the
normal speed, the upgrading may fail due to the data incorrectly recorded on the
CD-R.

Cautions: In the case of model DVD-5910/5910CI, the contents of the program
files differ though their names are the same. Therefore, please do not apply the
program file for the 3rd Edition DENON Link to the unit that is equipped with the
2nd Edition, and the program file for the 2nd Edition of DENON Link to the unit
equipped with the 3rd Edition. If you rewrote the unit by mistake, rewrite the unit
again using the correct program file.

How to identify the unit to which the 2nd or 3rd Edition of DENON Link has been
applied:
Please confirm the version of the DENON Link at the SETUP of the unit
according to the following procedures.
1) Switch the Power of the unit on, and press the "SETUP" button so that the
SETUP OSD is displayed.
2) Adjust the cursor to the item of DENON Link in the DIGITAL INTERFACE
SETUP.
3) If the items of the DENON Link are "OFF" and "2nd" only, the unit is
conforming to the 2nd Edition of the DENON Link. If the items are "OFF", "2nd"
and "3rd", then the unit is conforming to the 3rd Edition.

The Update Procedures:

SYSTEM MICON
1) Updating the System MICON on the DVD-5910:
(1) Connect the Video Output Terminal (VIDEO OUT or S-VIDEO OUT) of the
unit to a TV.
(2) Switch the Power of the unit on. Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and open
the Disc Tray.
(3) Put the CD-R (Ver.6867-2) for rewriting the System MICON on the Disc Tray
and press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button.
(4) The Disc Tray closes and the update of the software is performed
automatically.
(5) After indicating "LOADING" on the FL Display, the Power of the unit is
turned off once, and is turned on again.
(6) After "WRITING" is indicated on the FL Display, "COMPLETE" is indicated.
(7) After the indication of the "COMPLETE", the Disc Tray opens automatically
upon completion of the rewriting operation. Take out the Disc from the Disc Tray.
(8) Turn the Power switch of the unit off once.

ESS BACK-END ROM
3) Updating the Back-end ROM
(1) Connect the Video Output Terminal (VIDEO OUT or S-VIDEO OUT) of the
unit to a TV.
(2) Turn on the Power switch of the unit. Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and
open the Disc Tray.
(3) Put the CD-R for rewriting the Back-end on the Disc Tray, and press the
"OPEN/CLOSE" button.
(4) The Disc Tray closes, the FL Display indicates "LOADING" and update of the
software is performed automatically.
(5) During the rewriting operation, "ERASE" and "WRITE" are indicated
repeatedly for approximately one minute, and "DONE" appears finally.

(6) After indicating "COMPLETE" on the FL Display, the Disc Tray opens
automatically upon completion of the rewriting operation. Take out the Disc from
the Disc Tray.
(7) Turn off the Power switch of the unit once.

4) Updating the Back-end ROM
(1) Connect the Video Output Terminal (VIDEO OUT or S-VIDEO OUT) of the
unit to a TV.
(2) Turn on the Power switch of the unit. Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and
open the Disc Tray.
(3) Put the CD-R for rewriting the Back-end on the Disc Tray, and press the
"OPEN/CLOSE" button.
(4) The Disc Tray closes, the FL Display indicates "LOADING" and update of the
software is performed automatically.
(5) During the rewriting operation, "ERASE" and "WRITE" are indicated
repeatedly for approximately one minute, and "DONE" appears finally.
(6) After indicating "COMPLETE" on the FL Display, the Disc Tray opens
automatically upon completion of the rewriting operation. Take out the Disc from
the Disc Tray.
(7) Turn off the Power switch of the unit once.

Confirmation of the Version:
(1) Turn off the Power switch of the unit once. While holding the "PLAY" and
"OPEN/CLOSE" buttons on the unit down simultaneously, switch the Power on.
(2) When ">||" mark was indicated on the FL Display, press the numeral buttons
"3", "2", "6" and "5" on the Remote Control.
(3) The following Versions appear every time the "MENU" button on the Remote
Control is pressed. Confirm the following versions.

Cautions during the rewriting operation:
1) Do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation.
2) If the unit remained indicating the "LOADING" without turning into
"COMPLETE" indication, wait longer than five minutes after closing the Disc Tray
and turn the Power switch off. Then, start the rewriting operation from the
beginning again.
