Subject: Software update
Countermeasure is applicable only upon claim from the customer.


Symptom: 1) Indication of CD-Text has been improved.
2) The LED display of "PLAY/CUE" button at "QUICK JUMP" was done as well
as a current model.
3) The LED display at "BACK CUE" was done as well as a current model.
4) The accuracy of the frame search has been improved.
5) The pitch when setting to +6~-6% has been improved by Variable pitch. (0.1%
-> 0.05%)
6) Indication of BPM has been improved. (The integer is displayed. -> The
decimal point is displayed by one digit.)


Solution: We corrected the MICON software so that the unit operates properly.

Updating the system, DSP and servo
1) Turn on the power and load the disc. When the update disc is detected,
"Version Up" is displayed. Use PARAMETER knob to select "system" to update.
And "xxxx yyyy" and "Push Play!" are displayed by turns. (xxxx: Old Version
No., yyyy: New Version No.)

2) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button. "Update" is displayed and the updating
procedure starts. As updating proceeds, the playback position indicator lights in
order from left to right.
NOTE: In some extremely rare cases, the updating procedure is not completed.
If the updating procedure has not finished after three minutes, there could be a
problem. Turn off the power and repeat the operation from step 1. Depending on
the problem that occurred, it may happen that no other operations can be
performed. If this happens, MC9S08 IC103 must be replaced. Software must be
pre-recorded on the IC103. (When ordering the IC103, order the more recent
system microprocessor version number.)
3) When updating is completed, "Success" is displayed and the disc is ejected.
4) Power off and power on, repeat the operation from step 1 to update remaining
firmware (DSP/servo).

Caution!: Please update all the firmware (system, DSP and servo) one by one.


* Please mark " " on "Z" on the version sheet of master carton after completing
this firmware update.

Serial Number Range:
Please apply the above modification to the production models in the following
serial numbers.

Indication of the version label is "None".
