Subject: Correction of the firmware of DPMS (D&M Product Management
Server).
Countermeasure is applicable only upon claim from the customer.

Symptom: 1) The movie "Alien" Disc 1 from the boxed set "Quadrilogy",
customer reported that the English 5.1 DTS track does not send audio to the
receiver and pictures pauses intermittently when played in the BD players. All
players have latest firmware. 5.1 Dolby Digital track plays fine.
2) When playing disc, 20 Century Fox movie title "The X Files Complete Ninth
Season DVD" the player will pause between 17-20 seconds and lock up.
3) A sound might be not outputted "LPCM 96kHz 7.1ch" and "192kHz 5.1ch" by
480i Output.
4) An arbitrary HD sound has been reproduced, and when the input of the
amplifier is switched, the sound becomes interrupted. (BD7004 Only)


Solution: We corrected the firmware so that no malfunction occurs.
METHOD OF UPDATE via DPMS
Please do not use a Proxy for updating in the Network environment! If customer
uses setting of Proxy, the unit doesn't update the firmware properly. (Default
setting of Proxy is OFF)

Caution: It is necessary to initialize the unit before the update work begins. The
customer has to initialize their BD Player. Please update the firmware after you
confirm this matter to the customer beforehand.

1) Method of Updating
(1) Please refer to "FIRMWARE RENEWAL MODE (Network Update)" in Service
Manual.
(2) Please confirm the version of firmware. (Refer to below.)
(3) Pull out AC socket of the unit, and insert again.

Cautions during the updating operation:
1) Please do not turn off the setting of "DHCP" when you update the unit.
(Initialization is turning on.) Please execute it under the guidance of the IT staff
with computer skills when the setting of "DHCP" is unavoidably turned off by
limiting the electronic environment, and you set IP Address, the subnet mask, the
default gateway, and DNS, etc. for myself. When it makes a mistake in the
setting with "DHCP" turned off, the unit might not operate, and the unit be
damaged in the worst situation. Please do not touch the setting of "DHCP"
except in special circumstances.
2) When the customer use "Netgear router 614 Series" for updating, "uPnP" have
to deactivate in the router.
3) Do not turn off the Power of the unit during the updating operation.
4) If the Display has kept indicating fixed during the updating operation, wait
longer than total updating time. Then, turn off the Power of the unit and start the
updating operation from the beginning again.
5) Please execute initialization when it is not improved. Still, please repair by
service when it is not improved.

Please apply the above modification to the production models in the following
serial numbers.
