1 1 . INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Remove the platen cover.
2. Remove the following parts.
. Left scale. 2 screws

. Two platen cover mounting studs,
Toner inlet cover. 2 screws
2 screws
- Rear cover,
Two SADF post hole plates.
(Reach underneath and pinch the
holders together.)
2 screws
3. Lower the CPU plate.
4. Screw the height adjusting screws (g) - 2 screws (g)
2 nuts (h)
and nuts (h) into the post guides before
installation.
5. Install the t w o SADF brackets. Use two :4 screws (dl
flat-head screws (d) t o attach one bracket 2 screws (c)
t o the platen cover brackets and a pan ..

6. Install the entrance myler. Ongtnal Exn Gundo
NOTE: The stainless part of the entrance

7. Install the black pad on the left of the
upper cover at the position shown.
8. Replace the two t ~ s shead screws
shown with shoulder screws. 2 screws (b)
9. Fix the original exit guide at the left scale
position.
NOTE: Confirm that the black pad is
placed just under the hole on the
exit guide.
10. Mount the original feed guide on the
hinge of the toner inlet cover.
NOTE Check that the toner tank cover
switch is actuated when the origi-
nal feed guide is lowered.
1 1. Mount the original entrance table together
with the table support bracket on the
right side of the copler.
(Use the two long M4 truss screws hold-

13. Install the SADF by inserting the posts
into the SADF brackets.
14. Lower the SADF.
15. Lightly fix the four SADF post screws If). . 4 screws If)




16. Remove the SADF cover. 4 screws

17. Remove the feed belt: (See page 1 1-8).
and reinstall left and rlght locktng plates.
18. Level the SADF as follows.

a. Front Side
The two nylon spacers on the front side
of the SADF should be level and 0.2 k
mm 10.08" z gtA$lfrom the exposure
t
glass.


To adjust the level, move the magnets up
or down slightly. - Exposure Glass

b. Rear Side
With the height adjusting screws, adjust
the height of the rear side so that the
clearance between the srays and the SUvs

exposure glass is the same on the rear
side as at the front. A = 8. C = D.

c. Confirm that the SADF is level
On the &ht iide, the clearances between
the spacers on either side of the original
entrance guide must be the same.
On the left side. observe the amount of
lower exit roller movement as the upper
exit rollers contact them. The amount of
movement should be equal.




19. Tighten the SADF post-screws.

20. Check the front and rear clearances be-
tweeo-the stays and the exposure glass
on both right and left sides again.
NOTE: When tightening the post
screws. rear side- of the clear-
ances will sometimes slightly
change.
21. If the SAOF level becomes inproper.

repeat step 17. 18 and 19 agatn. and
then. install the feed belt.

22. Lift the SADF. Then. insert the SADF har-
ness through the hole in the SADF plate.
23. Connect the harness t o CN5 on the Main
CPU board and to CN201 on the SADF
board. 2 P connector
24. Connect the A C l OOV power line. Then.
screw one end of the ground wire to the
SADF, and the other end to the copier
frame.

25. Tighten the SAOF harness with two 7N
nylon clips, while lifting the SADF. ' Two 7N nylon clips

CAUTION: If two clamp are installed AClOOv Line
while the SADF is lowered.
the harness will be pulled
when the SAOF is lifted, re-
sulting in damage of the
harness.

26. Check copier registration before using
the SADF and adjust it if necessaw.

Adjustment Standard: 2.0 +- 2.0 mlm
27. Check SADF registration with the test Lead Edgn
sheet as shown in the right, inserting the - Registrat~on 200 mm
test sheet for five times. LDGJAJ
Adjustment 1.5 -c 2.0 mm in average
Standard: using the SADF when the Sida to Side
copier registration is+ 2.0

28. Adjust registration using DIP SWlOO on
the SADF CPU board according to the # 1 #2 #3 Change

NOTE: When SW # 4 is off, the registra-
tion will increase because the DF
motor tums off early.

29. Mount the SADF cover. 4 screws
30. Remount the rear cover of the copier. 2 screws

31. Install shoulder screws la1 in the platen 2 screws (a) Av
cover stud holes.
NOTE: The flexible platen cover will
be set to these shoulder
screws when book coples
are made.
32. Make a final reg~stration and copy Image
check.
33. Fill out the DF-10 New Equ~prnent Condi-
tlon Report.

1. Remove the SADF cover. 4 screws
2. Loosen the right locking plate screws and
turn it o u t

4. Take off the two rubber rings.
5 . Rotate the belt release bracket clockwise.

11-4. LIFT SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
1. Check that "Insert Originar indicator
lights.
2 . Lift the SADF and check that "Insert Origi-
nal" indicator goes off when the distance
between the original stopper and the
bonom of the feed belt is between 16
m m and 3 0 mm. (0.63" to 1.I 89
3. Adjust by repositioning the switch.
4. Confirm that the original inserted indicator
does not light when lifting up the SADF.
