Subject: Countermeasure for an unstable unit upon playing back CDs even
though the Optical Pick-up has been replaced according to the Service
Information OST-F939C.
Symptom: The unit is unstable or incapable of playing back particular CDs.
Solution: The firmware has been modified.
MODIFICATION: Replacement of the SERVO P.W.B. UNIT Ass'y Please replace
the SERVO P.W.B. UNIT Ass'y with the improved P.W. Board on which the
Optical Pick-up and the new firmware have been installed. Do this only upon
receipt of the complaint that the unit is incapable of playing back particular CDs.
Note: In this case, please be sure to obtain the malfunctioning CD from your
customer, and check whether the unit is capable of playing back the CD properly
or not after the repair.
