Service Bulletin
No. : OST-C1324
Date: May 23, 2008
_____________________________________________________________

Model: RC-7000CI

Subject: Insufficient operating range of RC-7000CI in home environment.

Symptom: The distance that the electrical signal reaches shortens by the
environment (electrical signal situation and shield, etc.) where the RC7000C is
used. Or, "RF OUT OF RANGE" might be displayed in the LCD display of RC-
7000CI, and operation becomes slow.

Advice: Please answer any inquiry concerning "Attainment distance" and
"Operation specification" from the customer as follows:

About Distance that the wireless signals reaches.
1) The distance that can reach the wireless signal described to the manual is a
numerical value when there is neither "Shield" nor "Obstruction".
2) The distance that the wireless signal reaches becomes about 1/3 compared
with WiFi for PC.
3) It might take time in the short distance (About 5-10m) by the time the display
appears to RC-7000CI.
4) The display begins to display it correctly after correctly receiving all data.
Therefore, time might hang in the update when the error occurs during the
communication.
5) In the distance of about 5-10m, when the communication environment
worsens, "RF OUT OF RANGE" is displayed.
6) At this time, the delay is generated by the obstruction in the communication
data, and the display cannot be updated. Please operate it after it waits for a
while.

Attention installer.
1) Please do the pairing setting in the room where you use RC-7000CI to set it to
a correct channel.
2) Do not execute the pairing setting when the equipment that generates
jamming waves such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and microwave ovens operate.
3) When the distance that the wireless reaches shortens after setting the pairing,
the pairing setting is executed again.
4) RC-7001RCI should be set up in the place in which a wireless signal is not
generated.
5) RC-70001RCI should be separated from the AV amplifier as much as possible
within the range of cable (1m).
6) RC-70001RCI should be separated from "WiFi antenna" of the PC and the AV
amplifier.
7) The metal such as AV amplifiers is not set up in the room as shown in the
wireless signal of RC-7000CI and RC-7001CI.
8) The wireless signal attenuates when passed through a wall in the room as
shown in the wireless signal of RC-7000CI and RC-7001CI. Then, the distance
that the wireless signal reaches shortens. A wooden wall is a limit.
9) Any metal and water interrupt the wireless signal.
10) The wireless signal attenuates through glass (UV protected glass etc.) with
lead and through human bodies.
