Subject: Procedure for Resetting the Micon when Replacing the Digital Board Symptom: (**)

Date: April 5, 1996

When replacing the Digital Board misoperation may occur when the unit is powered ON.

Solution:

If misoperation occurs after replacing the Digital board, perform the following procedure: Remove the power cord from the A/C recepticle. Verify that the replacement Digital board, which contains the System Control Microprocessor, has been properly installed and connected. Short the positive (+) lead of the back-up capacitor (approx. 1F/5.5V) to ground for roughly one second. Plug the power cord into the A/C recepticle and switch the unit ON. Note: When performing this operation all memory (i.e. clock/date settings, autospace, shuffle, program play, etc...) will reset and the unit will revert to the original factory settings. As these settings vary from model to model please refer to the Operating Instructions manual for details.
