Preserving the rechargeable batteries To maximize the capacity and life of the rechargeable batteries, they should be fully charged for 16 hours before the first use and then fully discharged by normal use. Then recharge to full capacity again. The discharging/charging procedure should be done every six months. Cell-pack Recycling of Braun Oral-B Ultra Plaque Remover At the end of the time-or-use of this product for environmental protection, the nickel/cadmium-(NC)-cell pack must be correctly recycled. For this purpose, the following steps are necessary. Fit the two slits on the bottom cap of the rechargeable power unit onto the protruding rim on the bottom of the recharger. Turn the rechargeable power unit approximately 60° in the direction of the arrow (anti-clockwise) as far as it go (see illustration). By applying pressure to the motor shaft, push cell pack with motor assembly out of housing and tear-off both thin connecting wires. Break-off cell pack with PCB from motor and remove the remaining part of the PCB from the cell pack.

Remove cell pack out of plastic tube and dispose cells according to local laws or applicable environmental regulations for correct material separation and recycling. The cells must never be thrown into fire or flame. This product contains a nickel-cadmium battery pack. In the interest of protecting the environment, at the end of the product's life, please do not dispose of it in the household waste. 4713 - 7
