SERVICE CALL CONDITIONS

7. TROUBLESHOOTING
7.1 SERVICE CALL CONDITIONS
7.1.1 SUMMARY
There are 4 levels of service call conditions.
Level A Definition To prevent the machine from being damaged, the SC can only be reset by a service representative (see the note below). The copier cannot be operated at all. The SC can be reset by turning the main power switch off and on if the SC was caused by incorrect sensor detection. Reset Procedure Enter SP mode, then turn the main power switch off and on.

B

C D

The copier can be operated as usual except for the unit related to the service call. The SC history is updated. The machine can be operated as usual.

Turn the operation switch or main power switch off and on. A level B' SC can only be reset by turning the main power switch off and on. Turn the operation switch off and on. The SC will not displayed. All that happens is that the SC history is updated.

NOTE: 1) If the problem concerns electrical circuit boards, first disconnect then reconnect the connectors before replacing the PCBs. 2) If the problem concerns a motor lock, first check the mechanical load before replacing motors or sensors. 3) When a Level A or B SC occurs while in an SP mode, the display does not indicate the SC number. If this occurs, check the SC number after leaving the SP mode. This does not apply to Level B' codes.
