Coin Vendor Interface
The coin vend interface for the MX-M260/310 machines is located on the MCU PWB (CN27). Before connecting a third party auditor, the device must conform to the following specifications: 1. The auditor interface should be optically isolated from the copier. 2. The external auditor interface should be `Power Supply Unit' independent. 3. The external auditor device's power supply unit should be a plug-top adapter, not an internal supply. 4. The external auditing device's plug-top adapter should have a reinforced insulation barrier. 5. The external auditing device must `hold' a CE mark. To enable coin vend function, execute Simulation 26-03 and select Vendor Control (set value to 1). The LCD display should now show the message `Under Vendor Control' when the MFP is restarted. This message will clear and copying will be possible only when the external auditing device completes the interface enable loop.

Product Key Registration
MX-PK10 Postscript Level 3 kit With the above option, you should receive an operation manual The front of the operation manual details a unique code which when registered along with the MFP model type and serial number, provides an activation key which unlocks the Postscript function within the device. Procedure 1. Make a note of the Copier Serial number upon which the option is to be installed. 2. Make a note of the application number from the front of the MX-PK10 operation manual. 3. Access the following URL, with the username and password indicated. https://dse-pub.sharp.co.jp/key/ Username: keyuser Password: key000323 4. Select your region.

12

Product Key Registration
5. Register the MX-PK10 Application number against the MX-M260/310 Serial number by completing the following web form The MX-M260/310 serial number MUST be entered in the serial number of engine field .

Note: When inputting the data, please ensure that the prefix letter of the application number is entered in UPPERCASE. 6. Click Send. The product activation key will be displayed and an Email also containing the information will be sent to the address provided on the form. 7. Enter Key Operator mode on the MFP Operation Panel and input the Activation key in Product Key PS3 Expansion Kit 8. Power cycle the copier. MX-PK10 activation is now complete.

13

Firmware Upgrade Procedure
Requirements:
· · · PC with a compatible Windows OS. Serial crossover cable (null-modem cable DB9 to DB9). Integrated Maintenance tool and firmware to be uploaded.

Procedure:
1. With the MFP powered off, connect the Serial Crossover cable. 2. Launch the Integrated Maintenance tool (Version 04.20 or higher) and select the MX-M260/310 series and click on Select.

3. Switch the MFP on.

14

Firmware Upgrade Procedure
4. Expand the Simulation Command List and double click All Data Areas Download from within the Special folder.

5. Browse to the location of the new firmware file (*.dat) and click open to start the firmware download.

6. Once the transfer of the firmware is complete, the Download is Complete window should appear. Click OK.

15

Firmware Upgrade Procedure
7. When Download Complete is displayed on the MFP panel, power off the machine and remove the Serial crossover cable.

8. Power on the machine and check the firmware version in Simulation 22-14. The MX-M260/310 firmware update is now complete.

16

Test Simulations
1.Entering the simulation mode Perform the following procedure to enter the simulation mode.

Main code [START] key then Sub code [START] key 2. Cancelling the simulation mode When the clear all key is pressed, the simulation mode is cancelled. When the interruption key is pressed, the process is interrupted and the screen returns to the sub code entering display. After cancelling the simulation mode, be sure to turn OFF/ON the power and check the operation. Note: If the machine is terminated by a jam error or paper empty during copying in the adjustment by the simulation, recopying is required. Note: The values in the simulation columns are not default values but sample values.
