1.1 Features of the POS Terminal




1. OUTLINE OF THE SYSTEM
ST-A10 series is a high performance POS terminal which has been developed from the industrial standard
PC architecture. This terminal provides all register functions required for a specialty store and enables the
user oriented system configuration.

1.1 Features of the POS Terminal
(1) Two types of models are prepared according to the front display size, such as 12-inch TFT model
and 15-inch TFT model.

(2) The VIA C7 1.5GHz CPU is adopted.

(3) The 512 MB memory is installed as standard; up to 2 GB memory can be installed.

(4) Powered USB is adopted.

(5) Compact and sleek design body is adopted.

(6) Windows® XP, Windows® 2000, WEPOS and Linux Suse 9.3 are supported

or any other cables than the drawer cable to this connector. Doing so may cause a failure of the phone
line and this terminal.

(9) Real Time Clock and Lithium Battery
Primary battery
RTC compatible with DS12885.
The RTC has a battery-backed-up CMOS RAM with 256 byte.
The lithium battery is used for backing up the clock and the setup information. The
battery life is five years.
The clock is to be accurate within ± 1 minute and 30 seconds per month.

Power Cord A power cord is not enclosed with the product. Please prepare a power cord
locally.
To prevent accidents such as electric shocks and malfunctions, connect the
ground to
the ground terminal of the outlet.
In the United States of America, use the power cord described below:

NOTES:
1. Total consumption current of option devices connected to the POS terminal
should be within rated current of each voltage (+24V, +12V, +5V). If it exceeds the
rated current, the POS terminal may malfunction due to shortage of power supply.
2. The system should be constructed so that the total power consumption does not
exceed the power supply capacity (200W). As the CPU (Via C7 1.5GHz)
consumes a maximum of 15W, the power consumption of the option devices
should be within 185W in total.
