VS2 Release 1
Preface
This publication describes special considerations, status,
and ordering procedures for the current release of OS/VS2.
The Release Guide provides installation managers, sys-
tem programmers, and IBM Field Engineering personnel with
information useful in planning for implementation of the cur-
rent release.
This publication has three parts:
1. Programming considerations for generating and running
this release of OS/VS2.
2. Module information consisting of a list of modules in
the system and a list showing their status.
3. Ordering and distribution procedures for the current
release, including program material lists and docu-
mentation support.
For a functional description of OS/VS2 Release 1 and
the differences between OS/VS2 and OS/MVT, see the OS/VS2
Planning and Use Guide, GC28-0600.




First Edition (September, 1972)
This edition applies to release 1 of OS/VS2 and to all
subsequent releases until otherwise indicated in new editions
or Technical Newsletters. Changes are continually made to
the information herein~ before using this publication in
connection with the operation of IBM systems, consult the
latest IBM System/36 0 and System/370 Bibliography, Order No.
GA22-6822, and the current SRL Newsletter, Order No. GN20-0360,
for the editions that are appl~cable and current.

Subject: Release 1.0
This memorandum announces the availability of Release 1.0 of the
OS/VS2 System Control Program. Orders may now be submitted.
As an extension to OS/MVT, VS2 provides support of a 16 million byte
virtual storage. CPU support will be coincident with first shipment
of these CPUs as follows:
