SYMPTOM Dead or tripping. CAUSE ACTION Line output transformer or problems in the power supply. Disconnect R632 and turn the set on. If the HT comes up to 150V, then it is likely that the fault is in the line output stage. This could be the line output transistor (2SD1554 in 51cm sets or 2SD1546 in 59/66cm sets) or line output transformer. If the HT comes up then shuts down again, it is possible that the vertical output IC, IC501 is faulty. Sometimes when IC501 fails, it will take out R501 (supply reed resistor). Note that in this receiver, the vertical output IC obtains its supply from the line stage. If the HT does not come up, then the fault is probably is probably in the power supply, IC701 or Q701 are suspect. If either IC701 or Q701 are found to e faulty, change both devices.
