Subject: Common Faults
1. SYMPTOM: Plunger not operating on tape deck (solenoid not firing, so the tape
plays fast or not at all), unit mutes on cassette.
REMEDY: For RM1100 and RM1200
Link Pin 1 CN107 to Pin 6 CN105 (through-board connections poor).
2. SYMPTOM: Motor boating (power surges) on output.
REMEDY: For RM1100/1200/1300.
Link Pin 6 CN106 to ground (through-board connectors not good).
3. SYMPTOM: No sound on radio and tape (either one channel or both).
REMEDY: Replace muting transistors Q8, Q9, Q10, Q11.
4. SYMPTOM: Not tuning up/down, other functions OK.
REMEDY: Check Pins 10 and 11 for up/down logic, if OK micro faulty.
