Model : Finisher D1 No.: Acc-155 (FF-T01-W-000053-01) DATE: 07.05.99 Location : UPPER FEEDER ASSEMBLY Subject : Countermeasures to prevent the upper feeder assembly of the Finisher D1 from opening on impact Reason : To communicate countermeasures (in connection with servicing the machine) to be taken for the possibility of the upper feeder assembly opening when the upper part of the Finisher receives an impact (for example, when arranging sheets of copy papers) Details : The upper feeder assembly sometimes opens when the user arranges ejected sheets of papers on the feeder assembly on top of the Finisher. The upper feeder assembly is held to the plate at the front of the feeder assembly by 4 magnets, but the 2 magnets on the inner side float up due to poor molding procedure of the part into shape, and the cover opens due to insufficient magnet strength. A checklist at the source manufacturer for the upper cover has been expanded for rechecking of the mold finish and whether the shape is free from faults.
