This Input/Output Control System (IOCS) facilitates the programming of input/output operations. The following subjects are covered: (1) the defini- tion statements that describe the files to be pro- cessed, (2) the initialization macro instruction that makes the files available to the system for data input or data output, (3) the processing macro instructions that cause input/output operations, and (4) the comple- tion macro instructions that terminate processing of data for one or more of the files used in an application.
