68k 1/4 watt R425 from pin 3 of fo/p chip IC402 LA7837 was going O/C as the PCB was being flexed.

safety res R 511 6R8 1w - feeds the sound output stage +B rail to the VCR PCB was O/C. This resistor is located at the front of the TV PCB at the bottom & hidden by a large black heatsink carrying a couple of regulators.
